The results of the WD Long Course Championships Round 1 are now available in the members section.
This was another good meet for the club, Evan Boyd managed to secure a silver medal in the 100m Backstroke final and finished 6th in 100m Freestyle final gaining a new PB in the process. Emma Kavanagh placed 4th in the 100m Breaststroke final and David Rowan finished 5th in his 100m Breaststroke final. Adam Thomson finished 4th in the 100m Backstroke final and also placed 8th in the 100m Breaststroke final, both Adam and Evan also posted new PB’s in the 400m Freestyle finishing 4th and 5th respectively.
Adam also took on the gruelling 400IM in a long course pool for the first time finishing 4th and impressively managed to match the time he set at the Club Winter Championships just last month which was swam in the Galleon’s short course pool.
We also had Ross McVitie in the 100m Backstroke making his West District Long Course debut as did Sophie McLaughlin who successfully took on all four 100m events and the 400m freestyle, while Emma Johnson (100m Back and 100m Free) and Sam McCallum (100m Free and 100m Breast) recovered well from their recent illnesses and lack of training to post long course PB’s.
There were also new long course PB’s in 100m Backstroke for Ross Nicol and Murray McGhee. Ross also secured a new long course PB in 100m Butterfly along with Kathryn White, while Murray dropped over 6 seconds from his 100m Breaststroke long course PB.
Well done swimmers, keep up the good work.
